We love baby Lucas :)

Hey hey! It's Lucas' mummy reporting :)

Finally I'm doing something that makes me feel abit more like a normal person (as opposed to er... a cow? :P) Checking email... updating the blog... checking soccernet.com :P

Nway, Marcus said we must document down the "birth story" so that we won't forget the drama... so i shall start working on that very soon! Hopefully in my next update :)

Poor baby has been down sick since 4-5 days ago with the flu! poooor thing is now on antibiotics and nasal drops and his nose is always stuffy/ blocked. Please pray for him to recover asap!

Please also help pray for us to be good parents cos he's getting abit harder to handle now... cos he has learnt to scream!! and waking up in the middle of the night to feed him is really not easy!!
I've woken up a few times in shock already thinking "Where's the baby!?" ... then i look over and he's in his cot and I wonder... ohhh...how did he get there? Scary!!!

Meanwhile, he is still as cute as ever and we love him to death :)
here are some more of my favorite pictures and you can prob see why :)

How many people does it take to ...

... change a baby's diaper:

4 - Dad, Mum, Grandma & Aunt

Marcus was cleaning Lucas' diaper last nite after he had pooed. He was doing a REALLY good job, really thorough and Lucas was happy too coz he was finally able to expel the air from his tummy. His daddy continued cleaning him and everything was going well when suddenly, Marc exclaimed, "Wah lao eh !!"

I was sitting on the bed in their room reading while that happened so I looked up and to my horror, Lucas had "launched" a poo attack !! It was NAAAASTEHH !! After that, Steph had to carry Lucas while Marcus & I cleaned the cot. Grandma also had to clean his sheets & mattress. It was very funny, although it really wasn't something to laugh about.

... bathe a baby (for the 1st time):

4 - Mum, Dad, Grandma & Grandpa

Well.. cannot really include Grandpa in it coz he was the cameraman. But important nonetheless coz he documented the entire episode.

The other 3 were giving baby his 1st bath at home a few days ago. Already abit kalang kabut (see earlier post for explanation) coz it was the 1st time they were doing it. And to add to the drama, Lucas decided to have a "water fountain" for some added fun. So it was "drain the water & start ALL over again" for everyone.

Grandpa was amused by it all and was very concerned whether he had caught it on video.

Your family so cartoon right, Lucas ?

Meanwhile, here's wishing everyone a Blessed Christmas !! More soon..

No words..

Just pictures.. :P

Day 6:

While sunbathing..

While listening to music and looking at his toy:

Day 4

Baby came home this afternoon. Oh boy, the mayhem that took place before and after his arrival !!

Grandpa wanted the whole house cleaned & disinfected before baby came home, so all of us were on our hands & knees, vacuuming, mopping, wiping and cleaning EVERYTHING.

After that, it was all kalang kabut when baby got back because everyone didn't know what to do with a delicate newborn around. We fussed over him, cooed, carried and changed him (several times). We were all tired out at the end of the day. His parents have concussed, grandma too. Only aunt & grandpa are still up..' tho aunt feels drowwwZzzy already. No pics tonite. I left the camera in their room and I don't want to wake them up by walking in. Trust me, he's still VERY MUCH a sweetie pie. We all love him to bits !!!

Oops !! I think I hear him already.. It must be time for his feed...

kalang kabut: a colloquial Malay phrase which describes a chaotic panic or to rush into things in a disorganized and foolhardy manner. "Kalang" means 'group' , while 'kabut' means 'fog'. The image is of a herd of people stumbling through a dense fog.

Do you see it ???

Day 2:

Unwilling at first, but in the end... He gave us a little smile !! *proud aunt gushes*

Of course I know it probably isn't a real smile.. apparently, babies at this age "smile" when there's wind in the tummy. Little Lucas has a very expressive mouth. He moves it very often and if you get a chance to watch videos of him, it's just too cute ! He also seems to already have a habit of blowing bubbles (just like dad, I learnt).

Day 3:

Here's a proud dad moment:

Baby was due home today, but he's got a little bit of jaundice, so he's got to stay in the hospital for another day (under the UV light). His mum & dad are there with him too. We're all excited to have him come home, so hopefully the little one gets better tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, Lucas !!

Baby Lucas is here !! He was born on 16 December 2006 at 1303hrs. A healthy baby weighing 3.245kg and measuring 51cm (rather long, or should I say tall). Both mum & baby are doing very well.

My first glimpses of him were on his dad's camera. When I saw him, I wanted to squeeze him sooooo much !! He's an exact carbon copy of my sis when she was a baby (a Mini Mi-nty !!).

I shan't hold everyone in suspense any longer. Here he is !!

Comfy little baby :)

Hi all, the mama strikes again! :)

More updates about our little friend at the 39 week mark:

  • He now weighs abt 3kg (good, hopefully PAINLESS size... heh :)
  • He has changed his favourite exercise times to 8-9pm (post-dinner) and 1-2am... (luckily his mum's a nightbird...while daddy-o is fast asleep, of course -"storing sleep"... yes we understand daddy :P)
  • He loooks like he may have daddy's lips (THANK GOD!) anddd....
  • He should be here any day now!! (Doc actually asked me on Monday - "Why are you still here? Why are you not in my Labour Ward?!" haha:P)

He's due on 18th Dec but apparently, anytime from 38 weeks is "anytime now"!
There were signs from midnight of 13 December that our little boy wants out soon but hmm... not just yet! Maybe he doesnt like the number 13 like his mummy...haha :P
Checkup on 14 Dec showed that minor contractions had started already (AND THEY HURT!!) but apparently, they were not "strong enough" still ... YIKES!

So... Baby boy, we're all still waiting patiently for your arrival!
And oh... so far, he's a good boy too cos his daddy told him to wait til the 18th to come out...
Mummy's still enjoying the company so i can wait... hehe :)

More updates from the excited aunty soon! (mummy will try not to be lazy too...heh :P)

week 39

This aunt-to-be is very excited !! The cot is ready, the clothes that baby will use are washed, and the nappies washed & folded (by me k ? Don't play ah !).. All ready for the addition to the family..

... I say this now, but I'll prolly sing to a different tune once the baby's here coz his mum's doing her confinement in MY house.. and so that means baby will be here too and so will all his noise. LOL. But if his recent scans are anything to go by, he'll a shy baby, and hopefully that'll means that he'll be a quiet one too !

His grandad has pulled out the Christmas tree and put it up very willingly coz it'll be his grandson's first christmas. (erm, insert picture of grandpa fixing up the tree here - coz it's in mum's cam)

Will update more when there's more news.. See you soon baby !!

Of Mum & Dads...
