Lucas..... he can be a real terror at times.. but he is soooooooo cute all the time
Just a few minutes ago.. his mama told him that he had to go to sleep. Now I must give you some background info. Lucas LOVES the alphabet. He LOVES his foam "ABC"s and he LOVES making words with them.
So yes.. his mama tells him he has to go to bed and he picks up "C". But then he comes back out and throws it onto the ground and picks up the letter "S" and says... ""S" is for sleep."

I have teeth and I can commando crawl!!!
My dear sweet little girl Lauren has been growing at super speed and her lazy mummy has not been quick enough to document all her progress!!
So today, when Gong Gong reported that she started her commando crawling/ creeping at around 2.30pm, i said i MUST blog this before i forget!! She is 6 months and 15 days old already!! Before we know it...she'll be sprinting around like her korkor! She's still lightweight though... weighing only 6.5kg and 64cm tall. Lucas was 6.5kg at 3 mths and ard 9kg at 6 mths!! How did we use to carry him???! haha
Since the previous post, my darling girly has grown 2 tiny teeth on her lower jaw. Those sharp little biters first popped out through her tiny little baby gums on 9 July 2009, just 3 days after she turned 6 months old! :) Now she chews EVERYTHING... and seems to particularly like chewing paper... hmmm. hehe :) Her upper jaw is also very swollen already so methinks her two front teeth will make an appearance soon as well!
She had her first taste of sweet potato today as well. Before this, she'd already tried rice cereal, pears, apples and banana. Popo thinks Lauren might be like Sam Yi Po and totally give up milk very soon and only eat solids. Nooooo!!!!
She also, of course, favours her korkor's toys over her own. Lucas (of course!) protests and protects his property (sometimes including mama!!) by saying "NO! mei mei!" accompanied by any of the following:
1) snatching back the toy in question
2) shoving her hand away
3) shoving her face/ body/ head and saying "NO meimei! Don't touch!"
Can be quite cute but also scary cos he has no regard for her safety. We do try to tell/ remind him regularly that he must share... cos meimei is a baby. I asked him before:
Mama: Is meimei a baby?
Lucas: Yes
Mama: Ya, meimei is a small baby. How about Lucas? Is Lucas a baby?
Lucas: Yes... Lucas BIIIIIIG baby!
Mama: ...... (not the response i was looking for!)
To-date, Lucas has rolled over onto her while sleeping once, and also kinda kicked her in the face once (also while sleeping lah) even though we put many pillows and bolsters between them. These days we have been getting him to sayang her and patpat her and hug and kiss her (in exchange for cheers and praise!) and he has so far been willing to "perform" :P I love it when they get along...let's hope it just gets better and better. Or at least until Lauren is old enough to defend herself!
From the glint in her eyes when she looks at her brother the past few weeks/ months, we think she's gonna take revenge and terrorize her brother when she's bigger :) She seems to love looking at him all the time... probably cos he's always on the move and always noisy with his singing and dancing!! She particularly loves looking at him when he's sleeping!!! She will yelp and squeal in delight when she looks at him sleeping.... she once yanked his hair while he was asleep and woke him up! Poor boy!!
She has also started babbling in the past few weeks!Lauren can say:
1) mamamama
2) bababa
3) *scream scream squeal squeal!!!* etc etc etc...haha
She also knows how to whine for attention and can spin around on her tummy to face the person nearest her for him/ her to carry her. Totally adorable and so clever!! :)
Nway OK, guess that's enough updating for now. Trying to squeeze everything into this one post but it's so hard!!! hahaa

p/s: Just as this mommy updated the blog saying how good Lauren was, I got home and was greeted with "Your daughter ah... so naughty today!! Can argue with you summore... (turns out she didn't want to sleep/ lie down and protested until she was carried & walked around the whole day)!" So guess Tai Yi Po is right... we have to say to her "Lauren, naughty naughty!!". hahaha :)

Finally... this lazy mother has decided to do some work! updating work that is... hehe.
Lauren is now already 3 months and 16 days old! And she is soooooooooo cute :)
She's really the peacefullest (?) and most gentle baby our household has seen - hahaha... after Lucas the tornado had blown us all away! - she loves smiling with her mouth wide open when you talk to her, she will also "talk" to you (and her favourite wet wipe box and the animals on her cot mobile) and now, she can even chuckle out loud (e.g. when you make snorting piggy noises at her...haha).
Ohh... don't misunderstand, we still love Lucas soooo much but this is just comparing how different they are! As far as we could remember, at least one limb of Lucas' was always moving at any one time when he was a baby - Mr Action (Hero)! - while Lauren is content to just be carried around with her head against your chest. He also didn't smile as readily as she does so early on. Think he started smiling more ard 4mths maybe?
These days Lauren likes to "eeee chang" (i.e. have you help her pull herself up to sitting position) and now, she even prefers to "stand up" :) She could hold her neck quite steady from when she was around 2 months, much earlier than Lucas could. This is probably because Lucas was a fat chubby baby (and his head was too heavy :P) but Lauren is allllmost underweight!!! The PD said she is only in the 25th percentile weight-wise (60cm & 3.435kg @ 3mths) cos she doesn't really drink alot of milk (different from Lucas again who drank alot & very quickly!).
This weekend was our first family trip together to Malacca with grandma/pa, Uncle M, Ze Jek and Aunty 'Tella. Lucas' "2nd" trip to malacca (he went when he was -5mths old :P) and Lauren's first trip out of Singapore! 7 of us rode in Daddy's new ride and despite setting off late cos Daddy with was Gongong and Popo trying to get the new flat, we got there in no time! For once, our travel playpen came to good use as that was Lauren's comfy cot for 3 days :) It also marked Lucas' first taste of sleeping in the same room as meimei since she was born. Good good... Initiation... hehe. THIS Weekend! Lauren is officially moving in! Just hope korkor doesn't disturb her sleep even if she disturbs his!

Welcome to our world, Lauren !!
Lukey's got a meimei !! :)
Lauren made her appearance at 1315pm today. She weighed a healthy 3.120Kg and she was an easy baby for mummy. I don't have her pictures at the moment but will upload some later.
She's a dead ringer for Lucas. A carbon-copy ! So cute right ? I will definitely post their pictures soon.
However, we did not get to see her or mummy today as Lukey had a 38 over degree fever. Not wise to take him near the newborn. We'll wait a couple more days, hopefully he'll be better soon and we can can all see meimei !
