hihi everyone!!
This is lukey's mommy doing some reporting from Uncle Nicky's house :)
The weather for the 1st 2 days we were here was pretty good. Chilly but sunny so we could bring Lukey to the "PG" (i.e. playground) on both days. But last nite, it rained and rained and today's weather forcast said to expect thunderstorms and hail and it was sooooo cold!! So... noooooo PG today!!
We have plans to visit a tulip festival abt an hour's drive from here but the weather's only going to improve from Wednesday. So we'll have to make do with shopping malls and supermarkets for now.
Meanwhile, Lukey has officially proven himself to be a naughty boy!! He has been refusing his food after a few spoonfuls. He will take a little nip first to satisfy himself that he approves of the taste and texture. If he doesn't like what he tasted, he'll let the food fall out of his mouth and refuse to eat anymore. Only problem-less meal we had was today at a foodcourt when he had SALTY, MSG-ful (i'm sure!) vegetarian "singapore" noodles and fired rice! jialat... we've tried chicken soup with cabbage and rice, chicken spaghetti, baked beans/chicken mince/ spinach spaghetti (started promisingly then...poooi....)... tmrw we'll try good ol' fish porridge...see how he likes it. sigh.....
And oh, Lucas refuses to wear his thick jacket even when it's freezing outside!! Sure hope he doesn't get sick! He will stuggle like mad when we try to put it on then will throw tantrums even when he's out in the cold to "take out!! take out!!", pulling and biting the jacket trying to peel it off. hahaha. Just hope the weather improves so we don't have to fight with him so much!

Lucas has grown so much in the past few months it's amazing! He's now so cute and naughty and smart and funny and so many other things! I'll try to list down some of the things i can think of but there are just so many that just can't be described well enough cos, really, sometimes you just have to see him to realise what a cutie he is!
A) My boy is sooooooo smart!!

Lukey is ill...
Little Lukey has been suffering from a bout of oral thrush. It started off as little lesions on his inner lips and tongue.
Yesterday was the worst - he refused to eat, could not sleep and cried till he went hoarse.
He's much better today, with medication & probiotics and is more of his chirpy adorable self. He has also got a better appetite, although he still refuses to drink from the bottle or eat porridge. We think it's because he has associated them with pain. Hopefully he'll get better soon and everything will be back to normal.

Time: Suddenly
Lucas got up and started walking around the house !! On his own ! He just started walking & walking, without hesitation, without holding on. It started with a few steps from the couch to the TV (yup :P he's already a TV addict, but more of that another time), then from the TV back to the couch and soon after that, he started walking around the living room.
We were quite afraid of him falling so we followed him closely, and even holding on to him at times, but we really didn't need to. Lukey was determined to walk on his own.
Yesterday, he did more walking. He attempted longer distances and could even say, "all dow" when he fell. But clever Lukey instinctively holds out his arms to cushion the fall. He also knows to fall on his padded bum. He even refuses our help by pushing us away when we hold him.
He's walking quite steadily now and he gets up effortlessly from a "squat" position. He's even pushing his "walker" around with one hand (while holding on to something else in the other). Oh.. and he even knows how to "go stun" (astern) when he walks his walker into an obstacle !

My clever nephew !!
My Smart Nephew !
My nephew is the smartest little thing in the world !!! .. and I say thing will loads of affection, mind you.
He surprised us all yesterday. Let me tell you what happened and you be the judge of my first sentence.
We were all sitting on his "mat mat" and he was watching "The Wheels on the Bus" on his (was Gong Gong's.. but now his) portable DVD player. He was slouching alittle so we told him to "sit up straight". He did, but only for a moment, before he slouched again.
So what did his resourceful Daddy do? Daddy lifted the DVD player so that it was at Lukey's eye level and he had to sit up straight.
What did Lukey do? Lukey reached for the DVD player and told his Daddy, "Put Back !"
PUT BACK !! My darling little nephew is so smart right ????
He can also say "atein" (again) without going "A-tein".. it's more like 2 syllables joined together now.. He's slowly managing words with 2 syllables and moving onto simple words with 3 syllables.
I have only one more foto of him so far.. and it's another one from the "apple" series. Will get more soon.
