Lucas

Lucas has grown so much lately it's hard to keep track ! He learns sooo soo quickly !

Ever since his mummy's last update, Lucas can:

1. Clap his hands.. If he hears the song "If you're happy...", he'll clap his hands and when it gets to the verse where he needs to "stamp his feet", he'll jump up & down.

2. Blink blink.. This one will get him out of ANY trouble in future. On cue, he will blink both his eyes and when we laugh and continue to look at him, he'll continue blinking & blinking. (We're now worried that he'll develop a bad habit)

3. Tiger - He growls/roars like a tiger when we say the word out. It's not a whimpy sound but a hearty, throated "rooooaAAaar".

4. Say please by outstretching his hands and turning them up (ala Oliver Twist "more please ?") then he'll curl up his fingers (ala come here)..

5. Do "no more" - looks almost the same as a please though... hehe

6. Wave his hands when we say hi/bye or stinky (looks the same)..

7. Tickle - He does it to his daddy's neck through the head rest in the car and to me too !

8. Sayang - when he's told to, he'll put his head on your shoulder.

9. Say... "papapapow" (don't know if he means pa pa or po po) and he can call me "yeeeee" *happy happy joy joy* - hehe gong gong is jealous

10. He can take something and give it back.

11. He now knows 10 letters of the alphabet: A, B, C, D, I, L, M, S, T, X (but he gets S and X mixed up sometimes)

There's more.. but I'll leave it till the next post otherwise I'll spoil your fun ! :) No pictures this time because they are still in the camera. More soon !

Baby at the Zoo!

Finally, another long-overdue update!

Lucas made his first trip to the zoo yesterday and he seemed to love it! He was most fascinated by the orangutans climbing down the trees and poles... (maybe they reminded him of how he climbs around on Popo and Gonggong and everyone/ everything at home!). He enjoyed the tram ride too but most of all, he loved the plastic Ice Mountain water bottle daddy emptied for him cos he could chew on it and fling it around! Someone pls remind me not to spend $$ on toys since simple things like this (and other 'cheap' things like container lids, tissue paper boxes etc) entertain him the most!

Today, Lucas is spending the afternoon at popo's house and it sounds like he's almost on his way to talking! He sounds like he's repeating words after you, like when taiyi says "kaca" (i.e. glass) he will laugh then repeat the same sound! He's also indiscriminately babbling "memememem" and "babababa" or "papapapa". TOOOO CUTE!!!! :)

Here are some more pics of him from recent weeks:

Uncle Nicky forced him to wear this beanie (and bribed him with food!)

See his "little" teeth!

... all the better to bite Gong-gong with!

The two naughty boys:

Lukey just lovvvvvves Tai Yi!

And Lukey loves Lukey too!

How not to love this face?!

Lukey's back !

The family arrived in Singapore at about 6.15am on Saturday afternoon. Ever since then, everyone at home has been swooning over the precious little boy.

He's now able to wave "bye bye" when we wave to him. He's also able to "give" someone the something that he's got in his hand... He learnt these in Oz ! So clever right ?

His daddy & mommy bought him a little alligator xylophone. Now, when we say "play" he'll bang his little hands on the keys. And when prompted "somemore" he'll continue to play on the keys !

His latest achievement (academically) is that he can (very accurately) identify "A for apple", "B for ball", "C for car", "L for Lucas" and "M for mummy" from amongst a jumble of flash cards. You can see him studying the letters intently before picking out the correct one !! My nephew is SOOOOO clever *gush gush gush*

Here are some pictures from his trip to Australia:

Here's the little vest Po Po knitted (very lovingly to get out in time for his trip)

Here's the little jacket that Po Po knitted for me & his mummy when we were babies (things like this must keep - heirlooms)

Keeping him amused on the road

See how cheeky he looks when he laughs

Silly mirror (silly daddy too)

Sitting upright & (greedily) watching his Uncle Nick eat

Lukey in Melb Pt II
