Merry Christmas!

HO HO HO, Merrrrry Christmas!

Little Lukey spent today wishing Jesus ("Gee") happy birthday in church by clapping while mommy sang, then visiting Gong gong and Popo after lunch to deliver presents, followed by the Tan Family Christmas reunion at night! Phew.... It's only Lukey's 2nd Christmas and he's already got tonnes of gifts and ang pows! :) Thank you grandparents, Aunties and Uncles!!! I promise I won't spend (all) the $$$.... haha :P

After 3 nights of Christmas parties, it's time for the little boy to wind down! It started with party at "Thomson" Lao Ma's place on the 23rd, Uncle Calvin's place on the 24th (+ swimming!) and at home tonight. Wonder if he expects some more action tomorrow night? haha... Uncle Nicky might just have to put on his santa suit again then :P

Here are pictures of Lucas' 2nd Christmas -

Sant' Nick (not Saint Nick)... hehe:

Merry Christmas Tai Yi and Uncle Chris... I am a big boy now!

Dear Taiyi and Uncle Chris in San Francisco!

This is mummy reporting to Taiyi how Lucas is a big boy already!

A)He has begun to talk much much more... his new favourite words include:

1) Ata (i.e. Marikita)
2) Daddy (loud and clear- no translation required!) - on Saturday afternoon, he said "orh orh Daddy" when we told him daddy was sleeping, orh orh.
3) Ah Mak or Makmak (i.e. Mommy...yikes!)
4) Aunty mem-mem (i.e. hurry feed me NOW)
5) PPPen (i.e Open!)
6) Em-MO (i.e. ELMO!)
7) Ter (i.e. Water)
8) Gen (i.e. Again - as in ordering us to WALK again, SING again...)
9) Ah Ber/ Ah Bor (i.e. Clever/ Ah boy...i think!)
10) (Ah) Gore (i.e. Let's go!)
11) Err (i.e. Here - when u ask him "Where's Lukey?" n he will pat pat his chest too)

B) He can stand on his own for a good 3-5 seconds (but only when he doesn't realise it!) and can "walk" up the stairs!
C) He can walk/ run abt 3-4 steps from furniture (then plunge) to mommy/ daddy
D) He can make "monkey face" - it was an innocent "OOO" but now's it's become monkey face thanks to Daddy! hahah
And lots lots more but meanwhile, I will let these pictures speak for themselves....
See you soon Taiyi... :)

1) Me, the Little Monkey (and my Monkey daddy :P)

2) Mommy thinks i look like taiyi when she was a kid! (except that taiyi had more hair!!)

3) I like to play hide and seek...

even when I sleep!

5) Here is another cheeky pic of me with my gappy smile!

One to wrap up his 1st year...

Time has passed so quickly.. Lucas is almost one ! In the past few weeks alone, the little boy (no longer a baby) had grown so much that it's hard for me to remember what he can now do (much less keep blogging about it).

Here are just some of his recent achievements:

1. He can say "daddy" very very clearly, "mummy/mama" not so good yet

2. He can say "o-PPen" (open), "ca-ber"(cover), gen (again)

3. He loves the song "B.I.N.G.O" because he gets to clap his hands with Gong Gong, Po Po, Tai Yee and Auntie clapping along with him.

4. He says "ball" and LOVES blue things.

5. He loves to dance to "Beauty World - Cha Cha Cha" and will say "ChaChaCha" when he wants to.

6. Today he surprised Gong Gong by calling out for Gong Gong without being asked.

7. He loves eating "aPPle".

8. He still loves going out. Tell him "gai gai" and he will not let go of you. He can say "go" when he wants you to move him in his pram.

9. He points to himself when we ask him "where's the clever boy ?"

10. He's practically running while leaning on the couch for support.

I could go on & on & on.. but really.. there's just soooo much he can do.. I can't end this post till I show you his naughty face, so here you go :

Lucas & Daddy having a little swim.

Cheeky Lukey

Don't let this angelic face fool you

As always... he's the cutest !!

Why We Are Best Friends...

We both like to take pictures together ...

even when we both have sleepy eyes

We like to read together ...

and play together

When we sleep, we like to sleep close to each other...

Finally, we both love the same person...

Mommy!

Lucas' 11th

... month !!

How time flies and how much we've enjoyed every moment of it ! Lucas turns 11 mths old ! He's achieved so much in the last few months.

I could go on gushing about how absolutely adorable and cuuuuuute he is.. but I shan't.. I'll let the pictures do all the talking..

Lucas' Favourite - the Clock.. he calls it the "K"..

His first meal at McDonald's

Grumpus

Watching the National Anthem on TV (yup.. it's Sedia !)

Look at just how many people fawn over him

He's grinning at the camera

... A parting shot from him :P

Lucas

Lucas has grown so much lately it's hard to keep track ! He learns sooo soo quickly !

Ever since his mummy's last update, Lucas can:

1. Clap his hands.. If he hears the song "If you're happy...", he'll clap his hands and when it gets to the verse where he needs to "stamp his feet", he'll jump up & down.

2. Blink blink.. This one will get him out of ANY trouble in future. On cue, he will blink both his eyes and when we laugh and continue to look at him, he'll continue blinking & blinking. (We're now worried that he'll develop a bad habit)

3. Tiger - He growls/roars like a tiger when we say the word out. It's not a whimpy sound but a hearty, throated "rooooaAAaar".

4. Say please by outstretching his hands and turning them up (ala Oliver Twist "more please ?") then he'll curl up his fingers (ala come here)..

5. Do "no more" - looks almost the same as a please though... hehe

6. Wave his hands when we say hi/bye or stinky (looks the same)..

7. Tickle - He does it to his daddy's neck through the head rest in the car and to me too !

8. Sayang - when he's told to, he'll put his head on your shoulder.

9. Say... "papapapow" (don't know if he means pa pa or po po) and he can call me "yeeeee" *happy happy joy joy* - hehe gong gong is jealous

10. He can take something and give it back.

11. He now knows 10 letters of the alphabet: A, B, C, D, I, L, M, S, T, X (but he gets S and X mixed up sometimes)

There's more.. but I'll leave it till the next post otherwise I'll spoil your fun ! :) No pictures this time because they are still in the camera. More soon !

Baby at the Zoo!

Finally, another long-overdue update!

Lucas made his first trip to the zoo yesterday and he seemed to love it! He was most fascinated by the orangutans climbing down the trees and poles... (maybe they reminded him of how he climbs around on Popo and Gonggong and everyone/ everything at home!). He enjoyed the tram ride too but most of all, he loved the plastic Ice Mountain water bottle daddy emptied for him cos he could chew on it and fling it around! Someone pls remind me not to spend $$ on toys since simple things like this (and other 'cheap' things like container lids, tissue paper boxes etc) entertain him the most!

Today, Lucas is spending the afternoon at popo's house and it sounds like he's almost on his way to talking! He sounds like he's repeating words after you, like when taiyi says "kaca" (i.e. glass) he will laugh then repeat the same sound! He's also indiscriminately babbling "memememem" and "babababa" or "papapapa". TOOOO CUTE!!!! :)

Here are some more pics of him from recent weeks:

Uncle Nicky forced him to wear this beanie (and bribed him with food!)

See his "little" teeth!

... all the better to bite Gong-gong with!

The two naughty boys:

Lukey just lovvvvvves Tai Yi!

And Lukey loves Lukey too!

How not to love this face?!

Lukey's back !

The family arrived in Singapore at about 6.15am on Saturday afternoon. Ever since then, everyone at home has been swooning over the precious little boy.

He's now able to wave "bye bye" when we wave to him. He's also able to "give" someone the something that he's got in his hand... He learnt these in Oz ! So clever right ?

His daddy & mommy bought him a little alligator xylophone. Now, when we say "play" he'll bang his little hands on the keys. And when prompted "somemore" he'll continue to play on the keys !

His latest achievement (academically) is that he can (very accurately) identify "A for apple", "B for ball", "C for car", "L for Lucas" and "M for mummy" from amongst a jumble of flash cards. You can see him studying the letters intently before picking out the correct one !! My nephew is SOOOOO clever *gush gush gush*

Here are some pictures from his trip to Australia:

Here's the little vest Po Po knitted (very lovingly to get out in time for his trip)

Here's the little jacket that Po Po knitted for me & his mummy when we were babies (things like this must keep - heirlooms)

Keeping him amused on the road

See how cheeky he looks when he laughs

Silly mirror (silly daddy too)

Sitting upright & (greedily) watching his Uncle Nick eat
